The next step in processing your meat

1. Contact Creekside Cattle to begin your order

Contact us to reserve your beef. Once you've placed your order with Creekside Cattle, you'll need to speak with our meat processor to complete your order and ensure you receive the cuts you want.

2. Prepare for your order

Listed below are questions our meat processor, Country Village Meats, will ask when calling in your order. It is a little less stressful to have these kinds of details figured out before you call. However, they will be more than happy to answer any questions or work with you regarding your preferences.

3. Place your order with country village meats

We will call you to let you know when the cattle have been taken in for processing. At that time you will need to call Country Village Meats to place your cutting order. The beef is aged for about 10 days after it has been slaughtered. 

4. Pick up and pay

Country Village Meats will call you when your beef is ready for pick up. Creekside Cattle will bill you for the beef and the processing. No payment will be required from Country Village Meats at time of pick up. Please feel free to call Keith or Sheri at 630.566.3516 if you have any questions or concerns.

Questions to prepare for the meat processor

How many steaks would you like in each package?

The number of steaks typically depends on the size of your family. For example, if you are a family of five, you might want five steaks.

How thick would you like your steaks?

The average is 3/4 inch.

Other Steak Options*:

Rib steaks (with bone in) or ribeyes (boneless).

How big would you like your roasts?

The average is 3-4 pounds.

A half or split half includes: 

Chuck roasts, arm roasts, rump roasts, rolled rump roasts, and round tip roasts. If you do not want any of these roasts please let us know and they will be added to your ground beef.

Would you like the short ribs or shank (soup bones)?

The average amount for short ribs is 4 packages. You should expect more shank (soup bones).

Do you want any stew meat?

The average is 3-4 pounds in 1 pound packages.

How would you like your ground beef packaged?

The average is 1 or 2 pound packages.

Would you like any hamburger patties?

Any amount of your ground beef can be made into patties.

What size patties would you like?

The average is 1/4, 1/3, or 1/2 pound patties.

How many patties would you like in each package?

The average is 4, 6 or 8.

If you would like the liver, heart, tongue, or anything else from your beef please let us know.
